Mohanlal's next with Sathyan Anthikad titled Hridayapoorvam

Earlier, we reported that Mohanlal would be reuniting with Sathyan Anthikad for a new film, their 18th collaboration as actor and director. On Tuesday, the latter made a formal confirmation regarding this through a social media post and announced the title of the film as Hridayapoorvam. While the story is penned by the director, the screenplay and dialogues are written by debutant Sonu T P, known for the short film Night Call (2022).

The director has also revealed the names of Hridayapoorvam's key crew members. The upcoming film will have Sufiyum Sujathayum-fame Anu Moothedath wielding the camera and Aadujeevitham production designer Prasanth Madhav as its art director. As announced previously, the music will be composed by Justin Prabhakaran, who previously worked in Akhil Sathyan's Pachuvum Athbutha Vilakkum (2023). Details about the rest of the cast and crew are awaited.

Mohanlal and Sathyan's successful association began with the 1984 film Appunni, where the former played the second lead. The director's subsequent film, Kaliyil Alpam Karyam (1984), featured Mohanlal in the lead role. Later, the actor went on to headline many of Sathyan's notable works, including T. P. Balagopalan M.A. (1986), Gandhinagar 2nd Street (1986), Sanmanassullavarkku Samadhanam (1986), Nadodikkattu (1987), Pattanapravesham (1988), Varavelpu (1989), and Pingami (1994), among others. Their last film together was Ennum Eppozhum (2015), which also had Manju Warrier in the lead.
