
Indian-origin Canadian singer Abby V, known for his breakthrough song Neelorpam from the upcoming Tamil film Indian 2, will be making his debut in Malayalam with Suresh Gopi's Varaaham. The makers of the film announced the same through their social media handles on Sunday. Composed by Rahul Raj, the track has lyrics penned by B K Harinarayanan. The film is directed by Sanal V Devan, known for previously helming Kunjamminis Hospital.
Varaaham also stars Suraj Venjaramoodu, Tamil filmmaker Gautham Vasudev Menon, Navya Nair, Sreejith Ravi, Sarayu, Indrans, Santhosh Keezhattoor and Mamangam-fame Prachi Tehlan in prominent roles. The film's story is jointly penned by Jithu K Jayan and Sesham Mikeil Fathima director Manu C Kumar, with the latter also credited for the screenplay and dialogues. Its technical crew comprises cinematographer Ajay David Kachappilly and editor Mansoor Muthutty. Varaaham is produced by Maverik Movies Pvt Ltd in association with Sanjaypandiyoor Entertainment.
Abby gained popularity on the social media platform Instagram when he went viral in 2020 for singing brief snippets of 73 Indian classical ragas in rapid succession. Before lending his voice to composer Anirudh Ravichander in the Kamal Haasan-starrer, the Toronto-based singer has also collaborated with artists such as K S Chithra and Andrea Jeremiah, among others.
