Vijay-starrer GOAT's Kerala distribution rights picked up by Sree Gokulam Movies
On Friday, Sree Gokulam Movies announced through social media that they have bagged the distribution rights of Vijay's upcoming Tamil film The Greatest of All Time (GOAT) in Kerala. The upcoming film, slated to hit theatres worldwide on September 5, is directed by Venkat Prabhu.
GOAT, featuring Meenakshi Chaudhary as the female lead, also stars Prashanth, Ajmal Ameer, Sneha, Laila, Prabhudeva, Mohan, Jayaram, Vaibhav, Premgi, Ajai Raj, and Aravind Akash, among others. On the technical front, the film has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, cinematography by Siddhartha Nuni, and editing by Venkat Raajen. It is bankrolled by Archana Kalpathi under the banner of AGS Entertainment.
GOAT is the second Vijay-starrer to be distributed by the noted entrepreneur Gokulam Gopalan's Sree Gokulam Movies in Kerala, the first one being 2023's blockbuster Leo. Lokesh Kanagaraj's film reportedly set a record for the highest opening day revenue in the state to date. In the past, the leading distribution company has also acquired the Kerala distribution rights of many Tamil biggies like Ponniyin Selvan: I (2022), Ajith Kumar's Thunivu (2023), Ponniyin Selvan: II (2023) and Rajinikanth's Jailer (2023). They have also brought Shah Rukh Khan-starrers like Jawan (2023) and Dunki (2023) to the state.
Meanwhile, Sree Gokulam Movies' upcoming acquisition from Tamil for Kerala is the sequel to Indian (1996). Indian 2, directed by Shankar and headlined by Kamal Haasan, is releasing on July 12.
