Tovino Thomas's upcoming Malayalam film, which was earlier titled Nadikar Thilakam, has now been named Nadikar, and the makers released the film's first look poster.
Last October, a fan club named Nadigarthilagam Sivaji Samooganala Peravai, which is dedicated to the memory of Nadigar Thilagam Sivaji Ganeshan, requested the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA) to change the title Nadikar Thilakam. The fan club alleged that the title would tarnish the legacy of the late actor. However, the makers have not made any announcement specifying the reason behind the title change.
In Nadikar, Tovino plays an actor named David Padikkal who deals with personal and professional crises.
Directed by Lal Jr, who is best known for helming Honey Bee, the upcoming film features an ensemble cast comprising Soubin Shahir, Bhavana, Dhyan Srinivasan, Anoop Menon, Shine Tom Chacko, Aju Varghese, Srinath Bhasi, Lal, Balu Varghese, Suresh Krishna, Indrans, Madhupal, Khalid Rahman, Ganapathy, and Sreejith Ravi, among others.
Nadikar is bankrolled by Allan Antony and Anoop Venugopal under the banner of Godspeed in association with Y. Naveen and Y. Ravi Shankar of Mythri Movie Makers.
