Actor Lena reveals her marriage to astronaut Prasanth Balakrishnan Nair

Earlier today, Malayalam film actor Lena revealed on Instagram that she has gotten married to former Indian Navy captain turned astronaut Prasanth Balakrishnan Nair on January 17 this year. He is one of the four 'astronaut designates' from India for the Gaganyaan space mission. On Instagram, Lena explained that she did not publicly disclose her marriage earlier because she wanted Prime Minister Modi to announce the astronauts who would form the main crew of the mission.

“Today, 27 February, 2024, our Prime Minister Modi ji awarded the First Astronaut Wings to India Air Force Fighter Pilot Group Captain Prasanth Balakrishnan Nair. It is a historic moment of pride for our country, our state of Kerala, and me personally,” Lena wrote on Instagram.

“In order to maintain the officially required confidentiality, I was waiting for this announcement to let you know that I got married to Prasanth on 17 January, 2024, in a traditional ceremony through an arranged marriage,” the actor added.

Prasanth was born to Prameela and Balakrishnan Nair in Palakkad, Kerala. He was conferred with the 'Sword of Honour' for becoming the best all-round cadet at the Air Force Academy. He was part of the Indian Air Force's fighter stream.

Lena last featured in Article 21, a Malayalam drama written and directed by Lenin Balakrishnan, and will be next seen in Sajid Yahiya's Qalb.
