Actor Tovino Thomas responded to a reporter who asked Anweshippin Kandethum script writer Jinu Abraham about a controversial scene he wrote for his earlier film Kaduva, starring Prithviraj Sukumaran. A sarcastic Tovino asked whether the reporter felt good broaching a long-forgotten matter from a film released two years ago. He emphasised that the makers of Kaduva apologised for the controversial scene and even had it removed from the film.

The scene at issue showed differently-abled children in bad light, as it asked whether they were what they were for the sins their parents committed ages ago. Naturally, it did not go down well with a section of the audience. Consequently, actor Prithviraj apologized for the scene and had it removed from the film.

The reporter’s question was whether Jinu would pay attention to something so politically incorrect in his future writing. In response to the question, Jinu said that he did not do it intentionally and that he would not account for such politically incorrect ideas deliberately in his future works. Later, Tovino added that the problem is not the political incorrectness of such a scene but rather its glorification, and that this question would not even arise if there was a correct idea about what constituted political correctness.
