Nivin Pauly will be presenting actor Kalabhavan Prajod's directorial debut, titled Prema Pranth. The film was officially announced on Wednesday with a title poster, featuring an illustration of a young couple. Scripted by director Abrid Shine, the film has his son Bhagath Abrid Shine as the lead.
Prajod, who rose to prominence after joining the mimicry troupe Kalabhavan, has subsequently appeared in numerous films. Announcing his directorial debut through social media, Prajod expressed his gratitude to Abrid for the script and support. "When I heard the story, I knew I had to have it, and Abrid graciously agreed," he wrote. Notably, Prajod has starred in Abrid's films like 1983, Action Hero Biju, and Mahaveeryar.
Prajod also shared his delight in introducing Bhagath Abrid Shine as the male lead. The latter debuted as a child artist with his father's maiden film 1983. He also played a key role in the Lal Jose directorial Meow.
Prema Pranth has music by Ishaan Chhabra, who has worked on the background score of Hindi films like Love Aaj Kal (2020), Srikanth, and Raksha Bandhan. He debuted in Malayalam in 2022 with the Abrid Shine directorial Mahaveeryar. In his note, Prajod mentioned Ishaan, as a gifted musician and thanked him for his 8 beautiful tracks that will be featured in the movie.
Prajod also took the opportunity to fondly remember Lal Jose who gave him his first break with Meesa Madhavan and Kalabhavan for giving him the stage name. He ended the note with a special thanks to his "friend, brother, and confidant Nivin Pauly for his wholehearted support."
Apart from Prema Pranth, Nivin Pauly is also backing Action Hero Biju 2, directed by Abrid Shine, and the Nayanthara-starrer Dear Students, directed by debutants George Philip Roy and Sandeep Kumar.
