On Thursday, director Gautham Vasudev Menon took to social media to share two behind-the-scenes stills from the sets of his upcoming Mammootty-starrer Dominic and the Ladies' Purse, featuring the lead actor alongside him. The film, which marks the Tamil filmmaker's directorial debut in Malayalam, is produced by MammoottyKampany. It is co-written by Gautham along with the duo Dr Neeraj Rajan and Dr Suresh Rajan, who previously co-wrote ABCD (2013) and also worked on the additional screenplay for Iratta (2023).
In a prior conversation with CE, Neeraj revealed that Mammootty plays a private detective in the upcoming film. He described it as a comedy thriller, with Mammootty portraying a fun character akin to Sherlock Holmes. Dominic and the Ladies' Purse also stars Gokul Suresh, Sushmitha Bhat, Pachuvum Athbutha Vilakkum-fame Viji Venkatesh, Shine Tom Chacko, Vineeth, Lena, Siddique, and Vijay Babu in key roles.
In the core technical departments, Gautham has retained his regular collaborators, including editor Anthony, cinematographer Vishnu Dev (one of the DOPs for Gautham's yet-to-be-released film Dhruva Natchathiram, and composer Darbuka Siva, best known for his work on the 2019 film Enai Noki Paayum Thota.
