In a conversation with an Asianet News reporter, actor Radhika Sarathkumar spoke about women's safety in cinema, especially Malayalam cinema, following the release of the Hema Committee Report. One of the revelations in the report is that some actors have heard knocks on their hotel doors well past their bedtime. When asked about this, Radhika said, "Many women have come to me out of fear after such incidents not just in Kerala but across all languages." The reporter then asked about her experiences specifically in Malayalam cinema, to which she replied, "I have seen many men giggling and chatting with each other as they watched some video. Then, I learnt that almost every caravan has a hidden camera and that those men were watching visuals of us women changing clothes in it."

Declining to reveal the name of the film set where the incident happened, Radhika said, "I am not playing the blame game. Rather, I am pointing out a systemic issue. Since then, I started to avoid caravans."

She also responded to a question about why she acted with Dileep, one of the accused in the 2017 actress abduction and sexual assault case, in Pavi Caretaker. In response, she said, "I cannot say that I will not act because he is an accused. Because in my industry, there are so many people who are accused for bigger things. I can tell you of chief ministers who have done worse. Am I not talking to them? We are talking to them," while adding, "I have seen with my eyes how top political people misbehaving with women."
