The teaser of Antony Varghese-starrer Kondal was unveiled by the makers on Sunday. The upcoming film is directed by debutant director Ajit Mampally, who also co-wrote the script with Roylin Robert and Satheesh Thonakkal.
The teaser opens with voiceovers from a man and a woman discussing about Manuel, presumably played by Antony, who has become a troublemaker since his return from the Middle East. This is followed by glimpses of Antony flexing his muscles, against the backdrop of the sea and fishermen, promising a high-voltage actioner. Starring alongside the lead actor in a prominent role is Kannada actor-filmmaker Raj B Shetty, who previously portrayed the antagonist opposite Mammootty in Turbo.
Kondal also features Shabeer Kallarakkal, Nandu, Manikanda Rajan, Pramod Veliyanadu, Prathibha, Gauthami Nair, Usha, Jaya Kurup, Sarath Sabha, Siraj, and Rahul Rajagopal in significant roles. The film's technical team includes composer Sam CS, cinematographer Jithin Stanislaus, and editor Sreejith Sarang. It is backed by Weekend Blockbusters, the same production house behind Antony's hit film RDX (2023). The makers are hoping to replicate the success of RDX with an Onam release for Kondal as well.
Meanwhile, Antony's new film Daveed recently completed its first schedule of shooting. Also hinted to be an action film, it is directed by debutant Govind Vishnu.
