Mohanlal visited the relief camp at the landslide-hit Wayanad in his Army uniform and announced that he would contribute 3 crore towards the rehabilitation efforts through his ViswaSanthi Foundation. The actor also said that the foundation, which he started in honour of his parents, would also make further contributions should a financial requirement arise. He also took a pledge to help build Mundakkai LP School back up after the devastating calamity destroyed it.

Speaking to the media, Mohanlal said, "The recent events have been heartbreaking. Many people have lost loved ones, homes, and land. The rescue efforts by the army, police, relief workers, voluntary organisations, and health workers are commendable. The Madras battalion to which I belong is part of the relief work here. The scale of the disaster is evident from the aerial view, making it one of the worst calamities India has faced. While nothing can replace what has been lost, the ViswaSanthi Foundation is committed to providing Rs 3 crore to support the relief work."
