Wayanad Landslide: Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan donate to Kerala Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund

Showing solidarity with the victims of the Wayanad landslides that claimed over 300 lives, actor Nayanthara and director Vignesh Shivan collectively donated Rs 20 lakh to the Kerala Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF) on Friday.

In a joint statement issued by the couple addressing the Chief Minister of Kerala, they stated, "In the wake of the tragic landslide in Wayanad, our hearts go out to the affected families and communities. The devastation and loss experienced by the community are gut-wrenching. In these times of great need, we are reminded of the importance of coming together to support one another."

Appreciating the rescue and rehabilitation operations, the couple added, "It has been extremely heartening to see the coordinated response from our government, volunteers, rescue teams, and several other organisations, all working tirelessly to provide critical aid and support to those in need. Let us unite in strength and compassion to help rebuild and heal!"

Earlier, actors such as Mammootty, Dulquer Salmaan, Fahadh Faasil, Nazriya Nazim, Vikram, Suriya, Jyotika, Karthi, and Rashmika Mandanna had made significant contributions to the CMDRF.
