Nayanthara on board Nivin Pauly's Dear Students

We had earlier reported that the makers of Nivin Pauly's Dear Students were in talks with Nayanthara to play the female lead. They have now officially announced the same by sharing a motion poster video. It is written and directed by debutants Sandeep Kumar and George Philip Roy. Nivin is also producing Dear Student under his banner Pauly Jr Pictures. More details on the project are awaited.

Notably, Nivin and Nayanthara had previously worked together in Dhyan Sreenivasan's directorial debut, Love Action Drama (2019). Nayanthara was last seen in Malayalam in Alphonse Puthren's Gold (2022). Her upcoming slate in Tamil includes S Sashikanth's Test and Dude Vicky's Mannangatti Since 1960.

Nivin, last seen in Vineeth Sreenivasan's Varshangalkku Shesham, is gearing up for the release of Dijo Jose Antony's Malayalee From India, scheduled to hit the screens on May 1. Meanwhile, he has multiple projects in the pipeline, including a film with debutant director Aaryan Ramani Girijavallabhavan and his web series debut in Disney+ Hotstar's Pharma, directed by Finals-fame Arun PR. Additionally, he is awaiting the release of his Tamil film Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai, directed by Ram, which premiered last month at the International Film Festival of Rotterdam. It also stars Anjali and Soori in the lead roles.
