

Blessy and Prithviraj Sukumaran's Aadujeevitham has surpassed Rs. 100 crores in just nine days of its release worldwide, the makers announced through a press release. The epic survival drama, based on Benyamin's novel Aadujeevitham, hit more than 1720 screens globally.
According to the makers, it is the highest-grossing Malayalam film ever in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region, a feat achieved solely through its UAE box-office collection. Expressing his elation at the film's success, director Blessy said, "The entire team of the film has put in over a decade of their hard work and blood, sweat, and tears into making this dream a reality. The film has stayed with me for over sixteen years and it is a blessing to see it finally being out in the world and being accepted so wholeheartedly by audiences worldwide. We are ecstatic and grateful for the response the movie is receiving, and we hope that it continues to cross borders and that this real-life story can reach as many people as possible."
A Visual Romance production, Aadujeevitham tells the based-on-real-life tale of Najeeb, a man subjected to exploitation and slavery in the desert of the UAE. Its cast includes Prithviraj, Hollywood's Jimmy Jean-Louis, Amala Paul, KR Gokul, as well as renowned Arab actors Rik Aby and Talib al Balushi. AR Rahman composed the film's music while Resul Pookutty helmed its sound design. It also features cinematography by Sunil KS and editing by A Sreekar Prasad.
