Tovino Thomas' upcoming film Identity has got a major addition with Trisha joining the cast. It seems like Madonna Sebastian, who was initially announced as the female lead, has been replaced by Trisha. Akhil Paul, who is directing the film with Anas Khan, revealed that it's a prominent character integral to the plot. It marks the Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa actor's third Malayalam film after Hey Jude, and the upcoming Mohanlal-starrer Ram.
Identity, billed as an action thriller, marks Tovino's second collaboration with directors Akhil and Anas Khan after the 2020-released Forensic. Ragam Movies and Raju Malliath are producing the upcoming film in association with Century Kochumon. The makers are planning to begin shooting in September.
Tovino, who recently wrapped up shooting for Anveshippin Kandethum, will begin working on Lal Jr's Nadikar Thilakam shortly. Meanwhile, Trisha is part of the much-hyped Vijay-Lokesh Kanagaraj film, Leo. Her last release was Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan 2, in which she played the role of princess Kundavai.
