Neru trailer: Mohanlal leads a legal battle

The trailer of Mohanlal's upcoming film Neru dropped on Saturday. Directed by Jeethu Joseph, it is a legal drama in which Mohanlal plays an advocate's role.

The trailer introduces him as special Public Prosecutor Vijayamohan, who hasn't attended a trial in years. He makes his comeback by appearing for a visually challenged young woman, played by Anaswara Rajan. Priyamani and Siddique are also seen as advocates, who seem to be representing the opposite party. Jagadish, Ganesh Kumar, Nandu, Santhi Mayadevi, Aditi Ravi and Harikrishnan are the others in the cast.

Neru marks Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph's collaboration after the Drishyam films, 12th Man and the yet-to-be-released Ram. Jeethu has scripted the film along with advocate Santhi Mayadevi, who earlier essayed a crucial role in Drishyam 2.  On the technical side, the director has got his regulars—cinematographer Satheesh Kurup, music director Vishnu Shyam and editor VS Vinayak. Produced by Antony Perumbavoor's Aashirvad Cinemas, the film is slated for release on December 21.

While Mohanlal's upcoming slate includes Empuraan, the multilingual Vrushabha and Rambaan, Jeethu is currently working on Nunakuzhi with Basil Joseph as the lead.
