Weekend Blockbusters to produce Chidambaram's next

On their 10th anniversary, Weekend Blockbusters announced four new projects. One of them will be directed by Chidambaram, who made an impressive debut with Jan E Man. Kiran KS and Vivek Anirudh are scripting the film, details regarding its cast and crew are not yet out. 

In an earlier conversation with CE, Sophia Paul, who heads the banner, told us that she approached Chidambaram after being impressed with his work in Jan E Man. The 2021-released film, starring Basil Joseph, Arjun Ashokan and Balu Varghese in key roles, was a comedy entertainer that emerged as a sleeper hit at the box office.

Chidambaram is currently working on his second film, Manjummel Boys. Its cast includes Soubin Shahir, Sreenath Bhasi, Balu Varghese, Lal, Lal Jr, Khalid Rahman, Ganapathi, Deepak Parambol, Abhiram Radhakrishnan, Arun Kurian, Chandu Salimkumar and Vishnu Raghu. Soubin is also producing the film, which is currently in the post-production phase.

Meanwhile, Weekend Blockbusters' last release RDX has crossed the Rs 80 crore mark from its worldwide gross collections. The banner is collaborating with its director Nahas Hidhayath for his second film as well.
