Ajith Vinayaka, the producer of Dileep's latest release Bandra, has moved legally against seven YouTube vloggers alleging that they tried to inflict losses upon his company by sharing negative reviews about the film. In his petition filed at the Trivandrum Judicial First Class Magistrate, the producer stated that the reviews, published within three days of release, should be considered as looting and not just degrading a film.
This is not the first instance of a producer filing a complaint against vloggers in Kerala. Recently, the Kochi city police acted on a complaint filed by Rahel Makan Kora's director Ubaini accusing that his film was tarnished and denigrated with a motive to extort and blackmail. Various organisations from the Malayalam film industry have also openly expressed their concerns about the damage inflicted by reviewers.
