Kaathal trailer out: Mammootty-Jyotika film promise intense drama

The trailer of Mammootty's upcoming film Kaathal promises an intense slow-burner. Directed by Jeo Baby, the film has Mammootty as Mathew Devassy, a middle-aged family man who is set to contest in a local panchayat election. Jyotika, in her Malayalam comeback, essays his wife's role. In the trailer, it is mentioned that they have been married for 20 years, but doesn't seem like a happy couple. Interestingly, Jyotika, who is present prominently in the trailer, doesn't have any dialogue in it.

Kaathal also stars Lalu Alex, Muthumani, Chinnu Chandni, Sudhi Kozhikode, Anagha Akku and Josi Sijo. Mathews Pulickal serves the composer and cinematography is by Salu K Thomas. It is scripted by Adarsh Sukumaran and Paulson Skaria, who both co-wrote Neymar, which was released earlier this year.

Kaathal, produced by Mammootty Kampany, is set to hit screens on November 23. Apart from theatre release,  the film has also been picked for screening at this year's IFFI and IFFK.
