The first look of Mohanlal's Empuraan, the second part of Lucifer, is out. It features a back shot of Mohanlal holding a gun while a helicopter approaches him. It hints at a high-octane action film made on a grand scale. Prithviraj Sukumaran is directing the film, with script by Murali Gopy. Kollywood's leading banner Lyca Productions is making their Malayalam debut with this film, as they back it in association with Aashirvad Cinemas.

Empuraan's shooting commenced last month in October. After completing the first schedule in Ladakh, the team is now in London for the next leg of shoot. A major chunk of the film will reportedly be shot in foreign countries. Though Mohanlal has already shot for a few of his portions, the makers are yet to divulge details about the remaining cast. Its technical crew is almost the same from Lucifer, including cinematographer Sujith Vaassudev, composer Deepak Dev, art director Mohandas, and action choreographer Stunt Silva.

Empuraan is planned as a multilingual with release in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada.
