A private tourist boat capsized near the Ottumpuram Thooval Theeram beach in Tanur, killing 22 people. At such a heart-wreck juncture, the producers of 2018 announced 1 lakh compensation to the families of the deceased.
According to rescue workers, the boat carrying around 40 tourists overturned during a joyride in the late evening of Sunday, and overloading is believed to have caused the accident. The Kerala government on Monday announced a judicial probe into the matter and decided to give a compensation of Rs ten lakh to the kin of the deceased.
