After shooting for 110 days, Tovino Thomas has completed his portions for Ajayante Randam Moshanam (ARM), a period epic spanning multiple timelines. Directed by debutant Jithin Lal, the film is scripted by Sujith Nambiar with additional screenplay by Deepu Pradeep.
Sharing about his 'epic' experience working on ARM, Tovino wrote in his social media handle, "An epic experience concludes. 'Epic' is surely not an understatement because for starters - it's a period movie genre; but more than that, the experience was indeed larger than life for me. It feels like I'm emerging from an era - transformed for the better. ARM was a story that had got us excited way back in 2017. And as often happens with dreams, it faced delays in taking off in the way it was meant to be. But here I am, signing off after a shoot that was fun, joyful, satisfying, demanding and above all, a continuous learning experience."
ARM has Tovino playing three different characters named Maniyan, Kunjikelu and Ajayan, all of whom from different timelines -- 1900, 1950 and 1990s. It is for the first time the actor is playing a triple role in his career. Telugu actor Krithi Shetty of Shyam Singha Roy-fame is making her Malayalam debut with this film. Aishwarya Rajesh, Surabhi Lakshmi, Rohini, Basil Joseph, Jagadish, and Harish Uthaman also star in it. In his note, Tovino also wrote about the new skills he acquired for the film and the 'friendly' team who made the days on sets memorable. "While I learned a host of new skills from this movie - including Kalarippayattu and horse riding, I also had to unlearn and learn many things about acting to embrace newer and better elements. I'm enacting three distinct roles in ARM, so everything was multidimensional for me. And I was surrounded by many dear friends as cast and crew, which made life easier even during the most challenging schedules. I made a lot of memories and new friends, and strengthened many too."
The actor also mentioned about the immense love he received from the people from Kasaragod and the wonderful time he had shooting there. "Another big takeaway from ARM is Kasaragod - the absolute charm it held. Months of living here eased through the support of the people and many smiles that have become familiar now. Thank you Kasaragod for being a home. Bidding goodbye to the wonderful place and the amazing team - but I'll be back. The movie looks amazing, which means it's a waiting phase from now to see how you all enjoy it in theatres. Wishing the best to everyone. It's a dream. Hoping it becomes real."
ARM has Jomon T John as the cinematographer and Shameer Muhammed as the editor. Tamil composer Dhibu Ninan Thomas is handling music. The film has been planned to be released in 3D in multiple languages. UGM Productions is presenting it in association with Magic Frames.
