Actor Prithviraj, who was working on his next, Vilayath Buddha, in Kochi, suffered injuries during the filming of an intense action sequence. 

Reports suggest that the actor-filmmaker was rushed to a private hospital in the city, and keyhole surgery is expected to be done on his leg today. The doctors have reportedly advised him a few weeks of complete bed rest after the procedure. 

A lot of celebrities and fans alike have been expressing their solidarity and sending their 'get well soon' wishes on social media.

Vilayath Buddha is helmed by Jayan Nambiar, an erstwhile assistant of Ayyappanum Koshiyum filmmaker Sachy. The film, which is in its last leg of shooting, also stars Shammi Thilakan, Priyamvada, Kottayam Ramesh, and Anu Mohan. Based on a short story written by G Indugopan, Vilayath Buddha is adapted to the big screen by the writer himself along with Rajesh Pinnadan

One of the busiest actors in Indian cinema, Prithviraj has been working on multiple films simultaneously, including some of the biggest and most-anticipated films in the country. While he is part of Prashanth Neel's Salaar, starring Prabhas, Prithviraj will also be seen in Hindi projects like Bade Miyaan Chote Miyaan, co-starring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, and Kajol's next. 

Meanwhile, he is also awaiting the release of his much-anticipated Aadujeevitham, and is working on his third directorial venture, Empuraan, the sequel to his blockbuster directorial debut, Lucifer, starring Mohanlal.
