Actor Arthana Binu noted for her roles in Malayalam films Mudhugauv, Sherlock, and the Tamil film Kadaikutty Singam, has accused her father, actor Vijayakumar of trespassing into her house and issuing death threats to her sister and grandmother. Arthana's parents, Vijayakumar and Binu, are legally divorced, and she has ever since been living with her mother, sister and grandparents at their maternal house. It is alleged that Vijayakumar has been regularly intruding their house and work spaces to threaten them.
On Tuesday, Arthana shared a video on social media which shows Vijayakumar jumping out of the compound wall of her house. She also added a photo of him yelling at them through the window. In a note added along with that, Arthana mentioned that the incident occurred in the morning, and despite alerting the police, they haven't taken any action yet. She went on to accuse her 'biological father' of creating such issues regularly in spite of the existence of a protection order issued around ten years back in favour of the mother and two daughters.
According to Arthana, multiple police cases have been filed against Vijayakumar, which includes one to retrieve the money and gold he owes her mother. Arthana also added that he is forcing her to stop acting and only take up films which he says. She, however, clarified that she has been acting in films out of her wish and will continue to do so as long as her health permits.
Vijayakumar was a popular face in Malayalam cinema during the 90s and early 2000s. He was a regular presence in star vehicles, where he did mostly villain and character roles. Some of his noteworthy roles came in films like Lelam, Narasimham, Valyettan and Thaandavam. He was last seen in the Shaji Kailas directorial Kaduva.
