I'll never forget the laugh on your faces: Alphonse Puthren condemns trolls and abuses

Filmmaker Alphonse Puthren has been subjected to severe trolls on social media ever since his new film Gold hit the screens. With the film's OTT release, the trolls have only worsened. On Monday, a dejected Alphonse took to social media to make it clear that nobody has the right to 'tease or abuse him in public'. In his brief note, he also mentioned that he will 'never forget the laugh in people's faces when he fell down'. The director went on to add that if the trolls and abuse persisted, he would 'become invisible on the internet'.

Gold marked Alphonse's comeback to direction seven years after the release of his sensational blockbuster, Premam. The film headlined by Prithviraj Sukumaran had one of the biggest star casts in recent times in Malayalam cinema. Despite all the hype, the film opened to poor response and tanked miserably at the box office. While a section of social media users is busy trolling and hurling abuses at Alphonse, many are hopeful of seeing the talented filmmaker bounce back in style.

Alphonse had earlier announced a musical titled Paattu with Fahadh Faasil and Nayanthara as the leads. Due to various reasons, the project got postponed. It remains to be seen if the director revives it with the same cast.
