As reported earlier, Mammootty is starring in the directorial debut of cinematographer Roby Varghese Raj. Produced by the actor's own banner Mammootty Kampany, the film's shoot is currently nearing the final stages. Meanwhile, the makers have announced that its title and first look will be unveiled on Sunday. While there are widespread reports about the film being titled Kannur Squad, the makers are yet to confirm it.
Billed as a thriller, the upcoming film has its story by Muhammed Shafi. He has also penned the screenplay along with actor Rony David Raj, who is also director Roby's brother. While Sushin Shyam is composing the music, cinematography and edits are handled by Muhammed Rahil and Praveen Prabhakar, respectively. Mammootty, whose last release was the B Unnikrishnan directorial Christopher, next has Jeo Baby's Kaathal lined up for release.
