Kunchacko Boban's Padmini gets an OTT release date 

Kunchako Boban's latest theatrical release Padmini will start premiere on Netflix on August 11. The film, which hit the theatres on July 14, is helmed by Senna Hegde, who is best known forThinkalazhcha Nishchayam and 1744 White Alto. 

While Kunchako Boban plays the lead role, Madonna Sebastian, Aparna Balamurali and Vincy Aloshious play the female leads. And the film's supporting cast comprises Althaf Salim, Sajin Cherukayil, Ganapathi, Anand Manmadhan, Seema G Nair, Gokulan, and James Elia.

Padmini, which marked the third directorial venture from Senna Hegde, mostly met positive reception, "Senna Hegde's Padmini gets the 90s homage thing right, without going overboard with the pastels or sunlight. Padmini has a remarkable quality that some recent Malayalam comedies don't have: the ability to make even the lines spoken by a one-minute character memorable," reads an excerpt of the CE review of the film. 

Padmini is produced by Prasobh Krishna and Suvin K Varkey under the banner of Little Big Films. During its theatrical run, the film met with controversy as producer Suvin K Varkey accused Kunchacko Boban of not promoting the film. 

Padmini is scripted by Kunjiramayanam-fame Deepu Pradeep. Sreeraj Raveendran, who shot Senna's last two films, Thinkalazhcha Nishchayam and 1744 White Alto, is the cinematographer, and Manu Antony edited the film.
