
The makers of the upcoming Malayalam-disaster-drama-film, 2018, released the trailer of the film on Sunday. The multi-starrer film is written and directed by Jude Anthany Joseph and is based on the 2018 flash floods that occurred in Kerala and claimed many lives. The film will hit the theatres on May 5.
The trailer opens with a media-voice-over warning about the Idukki dam's shutter opening. An overpowering siren voice in the background asserts the impending danger. The trailer also showcases the life of the people before and during the nerve-racking events of the flash foods.

2018 has an ensemble star cast led by Tovino Thomas, Narain, Asif Ali, Kunchacko Boban, Vineeth Sreenivasan, Kalaiyarasan, Lal, and Aparna Balamurali, Tanvi Ram, Sshivada, Indrans, Gilu Joseph, Jaffer Idukki, Janardhanan, Siddique, Sudheesh, Aju Varghese, and Gauthami Nair, among others.
Penned by director Jude along with Akhil P Dharmajan, 2018's technical crew includes cinematographer Akhil George while Nobin Paul handles the edits. Produced by Venu Kunnappilly, CK Padmakumar, and Anto Joseph, the film has music composed by Chaman Chacko.
