Mammootty is reportedly playing a cop character in this film, which is based on a real incident. Udhayakrishna has scripted the film, marking his second successive collaboration with B Unnikrishnan after Aaraattu. The director has also worked with Mammootty earlier in Pramani (2010).
The upcoming project, which is yet-to-be-titled, will go on floors on July 15.
