Jagathy Sreekumar to return in Mammootty's CBI 5

What's a CBI film without Jagathy Sreekumar? It has been confirmed that the character Vikram, played by the actor in the last four films in director K Madhu's popular investigative film series, will be returning for the fifth instalment, much to everyone's delight.

Given the actor's present health condition that resulted from an accident in 2012, there were speculations on his appearance in the film that sees Mammootty reprising his popular Sethurama Iyer character. After figuring out a way to include Vikram in the story, the team plans to film Jagathy's portions at his residence in Thiruvananthapuram. Filming is currently progressing in Kakkanad, Kochi.

Mammootty joined the sets a couple of days ago after completing Lijo Jose Pellissery's Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam.

Penned by series regular SN Swamy, CBI 5 will also see the return of Mukesh and Saikumar along with new cast members Ramesh Pisharody, Renji Panicker, Dileesh Pothan, Soubin Shahir, Asha Sarath, and Malavika Menon.

Akhil George is the director of photography, while Jakes Bejoy handles the background score.
