Director Chayan Shetty, known for helming the Roopesh Shetty-starrer Adhipatra, is back with an out-and-out comedy entertainer titled Marriage Party. Produced by Santosh V under the Sri Varahi Films banner, the film is set to hit screens on December 4. Notably, the project will see a simultaneous release in Kannada and Malayalam.
The film marks the Kannada debut of Tulu actor Vineeth Kumar in the lead. Unlike Chayan's debut, which was a serious mystery, Marriage Party is a full-fledged humor-driven story rooted in the coastal belt.
Set in a single village, the plot follows the everyday chaos and fun that unfold around a local wedding. Filmed in and around Kundapura, the team wrapped production quickly and has now moved into post-production. With the release date locked, the makers plan to begin promotions by releasing the first track during Dasara.
Chayan mentions that Marriage Party is built as a complete family watch with a solid comedy track. The cast features seasoned coastal and Kannada comic talent, including Prakash Thuminad, Naveen D Padil, Deepak Rai Panaje, Rakshitha, Namitha Kiran, Ramdas Poojary, Raghu Pandeshwar, Pushparaj Bolar, Jyothish Shetty, Radhakrishna, PD Sathishchandra, and Bheem Rao.
The technical crew includes cinematographer Srikanth, music director Ritvik Muralidhar, and editor Nitin Shetty (Su From So fame). Lyrics are written by Pramod Maravanthe and Trilok Trivikram.
