The Jamboo Savari procession of Mysuru Dasara 2026 is set to have a strong presence of Sandalwood stars, with more than 30 popular actors from the Kannada film industry expected to participate in the annual celebration. Their presence will bring the film fraternity into one of Karnataka’s most important cultural events, alongside the traditional rituals, cultural troupes and ceremonial proceedings that form part of the Dasara procession.

A specially arranged open-top ‘Ambari Bus’ will carry the artistes during the procession. The actors will travel on the bus, waving to spectators and acknowledging fans gathered along the route. Official invitations have already been extended to several leading names from the Kannada film industry, including Dr Shivarajkumar, Crazy Star Ravichandran, Ramesh Aravind, Rocking Star Yash, Kiccha Sudeep, Rishab Shetty, Rakshit Shetty, Dhruva Sarja, Raj B Shetty, veteran actor Umashree, Rachita Ram, Sapthami Gowda and Rukmini Vasanth, among others.

The procession will also feature a special tableau tracing the 93-year journey of Kannada cinema. The display will recall the contribution of some of the industry’s most influential personalities, including Dr Rajkumar, Dr Vishnuvardhan, Rebel Star Ambareesh and Karnataka Ratna Dr Puneeth Rajkumar. The tableau is being designed to highlight their contribution to Kannada cinema and their place in the cultural history of Karnataka.

With a large number of fans expected to gather for a glimpse of their favourite actors, the authorities have decided to restrict the participation of the film personalities to the stretch between the Mysuru Palace premises and KR Circle. The artistes will travel on the open-top bus until KR Circle and leave the procession there, while the traditional Jambu Savari will continue towards Bannimantap as usual. The inclusion of Sandalwood stars is expected to give this year’s Dasara procession an added attraction while keeping its traditional character intact.
