Niranjan Sudhindra and Rachana Inder’s upcoming Kannada film Spark has unveiled its latest song, ‘Madhura Mugulunage’, a romantic number featuring the lead pair.
The song was released by Anasuyamma, actor Upendra’s mother and Niranjan Sudhindra’s grandmother, at an event attended by the film’s cast, crew, family members and industry guests. The song has music by Sachin Basrur, who has also lent his voice to the track, with lyrics by Pramod Maravante.
Actor Darling Krishna, who attended the event to wish the team, had special praise for Niranjan. Referring to the actor’s dance and action skills, Krishna said he had watched several of Niranjan’s action videos on social media.
“Niranjan is trained in both dance and action. He can be called the Hrithik Roshan of Kannada cinema,” Krishna said, adding that the chemistry between Niranjan and Rachana in the new song comes across well.
Priyanka Upendra also spoke about her association with Niranjan. She recalled meeting him as a young boy when she entered the Upendra household after marriage and said she was happy to see him grow into a lead actor.
She also liked the new song and said she found it easier to make reels with it compared to the film’s earlier song, ‘Shakalaka’. Priyanka added that she and Upendra plan to make a reel for the song soon. She also said she often tells her son to learn from Niranjan.
Director Dayal Padmanabhan described Niranjan as a promising new-generation lead at a time when Kannada cinema needs more actors from the next generation.
Niranjan plays a media representative in Spark, also starring Rachana as an MBBS student. She revealed that the song was the first shot she filmed for the film.
Interestingly, Lovely Star Prem plays the antagonist. His wife Jyothi revealed that the actor had always wanted to take up an action role and even smoked cigarettes for the character despite never having smoked before.
Directed by D Mahantesh Handral, Spark is scheduled to release across Karnataka on September 25.
