Chandini Sreedharan, well-known for her role in the iconic Kannada film A, has expressed her condolences on the tragic demise of her debut film producer, Manjunath (affectionately known as Silk Manju), and remembered his life and achievements.
Always remembering his simplicity and humanity, Chandini paid tribute to his life and legacy. "I had stayed in touch with Manjunath over the years and had visited him in the hospital during his final days. Manjunath responded with a smile of his own. This touching moment beautifully brought to my mind the lines of the famous song 'Sum Summane Nagthaale' from the movie A.
Believing in the meaningful human relationships built through her journey in acting and film distribution, Chandini considers the film industry a wonderful and safe place to work. Producer Manjunath was one of the key figures who instilled in her the belief that the film industry is like a family.
Recalling her early days starting her journey in the film industry at a young age, Chandini fondly remembers how warmly and respectfully Manjunath treated her parents. He cared deeply for her and acted protectively. The entire team of A worked together like a large family.
Remembering Manjunath brings Chandini some solace, especially given that they had recently celebrated the successful re-release of the film A together. However, she notes that a producer who put in immense effort to make a massive blockbuster like A deserved even more recognition.
