A rare camera gifted by the Mysore Maharaja 150 years ago, memories passed down through four generations, and the aspirations of a 10-year-old boy form the heart of Mysore Studios, the poster of which was unveiled recently.
Produced by Hi5 Studios, PK Pictures, and RD Films and Media, the film promises to weave together history, family memories, and the dreams of a new generation. The poster offers a glimpse into a narrative rooted in the legacy of the Mysore royal era, with the camera serving as a link between the past and the present.
Written and directed by Praveen M Prabhu, the film marks his directorial debut after a decade in the Kannada film industry as a cinematographer. He has worked on films such as Runkal Raate, Kapala, and Matsyagandha, earning recognition for his work behind the camera.
Prabhu had also directed two short films while nurturing his ambition to become a filmmaker. One of them won an award for Best Story, and he has now expanded that story into Mysore Studios. The feature film brings together a narrative spanning generations, marking an ambitious beginning to his journey as a director.
The film has completed shooting and is currently in the music and post-production stages. Prabhu has also handled cinematography for the project.
Produced by Praveen Kavita, Sathya Srinivasan, and Divakar Dayal under the banners of Hi5 Studios, PK Pictures, and RD Films and Media, the film features Rishikesh, Dhananjay, Yudith Shetty, Divyashree, Gaurav Mahantesh Hiremath, Masterpiece Ananth, Mogu Suresh, and Danny Kanikaraj, among others.
Lingaraj Itihas, Avinash Kalasa, and Prabhu have worked on the dialogues, while Ajith Keshav has penned the lyrics. K Yeasu is the editor, and Prasanna Keshav KS, known for films such as Eltu Mutha and Hubballi Hunters, is composing the music and background score.
