Behind the colourful dance routines and upbeat music of Partner, the film anchors itself in genuine emotional conflict and modern relationship realities, says lead actor Krishna Ajay Rao. Speaking at the release of the film's second track, 'Lavalavike,' the actor emphasised that the strength of the script lies in how it balances youthful relationship dynamics with heartfelt family values.

"The core concept resonated with me immediately, and it is a project very close to my heart," Ajay Rao revealed. "Just like the musical sequences, the dramatic portions are richly treated, but what truly grounds the film is how director Shiva Tejas has captured human values and layered emotions. Shiva and I share a 25-year bond of friendship, and in producer Harish, we found a partner who shares that exact vision. I have complete conviction in this film reaching family audiences."

The sentiment was mirrored by female lead Brinda Acharya, who reflected on how the off-screen camaraderie mirrored the evolving relationship dynamics seen on screen.

"The creative bond across our cast and crew made a huge difference during the shoot," Brinda shared with a laugh. "Initially, Ajay sir was quiet, aloof, and almost felt like a moody 'Sidduppa' who kept to himself. But as the shoot progressed, that wall came down completely. He turned into the sweetest mentor, guiding me through the intricacies of the song sequences and performance."

Director Shiva Tejas (Male, Dhairyam) noted that Partner uses contemporary relationship milestones, ranging from casual dating to live-in arrangements and breakups, to explore what holds relationships together across generations.

"Every song has been mounted with its own visual palette and colour philosophy, designed meticulously with costume designer Lakshmi Krishna," Shiva Tejas explained. "Shot extensively across Puducherry and Bengaluru, the film has shaped up even stronger than our initial vision. Kannada cinema has seen a fresh wave of family entertainers striking gold recently, and we are confident that Partner, with its balance of romance and family warmth, will hit that same sweet spot."

For producer Harish Devithandre, funding Partner under the HPR Enterprises banner was driven by an insistence on wholesome commercial appeal.

"Having worked across television broadcasting and distribution, my primary filter was clear: make a film that every generation in a family can sit through together without hesitation," said Devithandre. "We approached the production with clear commercial sensibility, ensuring the craft, from Sugnaan’s visuals to Nakul Abhyankar’s score and KM Prakash’s edit, meets high production benchmarks."

Following the viral reception of its romantic first single 'Amora,' the newly launched 'Lavalavike,' choreographed by Murali Master, penned by Kaviraj, and voiced by Karthik and Ramya Abhyankar, sets up Partner for its upcoming theatrical rollout.
