Kannada actor Chaithra Achar has once again taken a firm stand against online harassment after allegedly receiving inappropriate messages from a man said to be associated with the police department.
According to the actor, the individual, identified as Mahesh Hosamani, later apologised after she publicly shared screenshots of the conversation on social media. In his message, he reportedly pleaded with her to delete the post, saying he had acted “out of concern” and that the controversy could affect his job. Chaithra, however, refused to back down and shared screenshots of the apology as well, questioning whether the sender had failed to consider her profession and dignity before making the remarks. She also tagged the Bengaluru City Police in her posts.
The actor has often spoken out against abusive behaviour online. Active on Instagram, Chaithra frequently shares photographs and updates from her personal and professional life, attracting both praise and criticism. While she largely ignores casual trolling, the actor has repeatedly called out comments she considers vulgar or demeaning.
On the professional front, Chaithra’s who juggling between multiple langauges is looking forward for her next Kannada film, Geek. She is also part of Fauji, starring Prabhas, where she reportedly plays a significant role. Her other projects include Strawberry, Laila’s Sweet Dreams, and Meesaya Murukku 2.
