Following actor-politician Vijay's major victory in the Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections, with his party’s debut electoral performance, Kannada actor-director Vijay Kumar has sparked discussion with his comments on wanting political change in Karnataka as well.
Speaking at the launch event of the 'Baava Baava' song from his upcoming directorial City Lights, Vijay Kumar reacted to Vijay’s rise in politics in Tamil Nadu and said, “Thalapathy Vijay has ‘Vijay’ in his name, and I too have Vijay in my name. Karnataka also needs a change like this.” His remarks quickly began circulating on social media, especially as conversations around film personalities entering politics continue to grow across South India.
When asked if he too plans to enter politics, Duniya Vijay avoided making any firm announcement. “As of now, there are no such plans. When the time comes, I will speak about it,” he said, leaving room for speculation about a possible future political move.
The actor was also all praise for Vijay’s reported success in his first major political outing, saying such developments reflect people’s desire for change. Over the years, several actors successfully transitioned into politics in Tamil Nadu, and Vijay’s growing political influence has become one of the most discussed topics in the state.
Meanwhile, 'Baava Baava,' the song is composed by Charan Raj for City Lights. The film stars Vinay Rajkumar in the lead and introduces Duniya Vijay’s daughter Monisha Vijaykumar to cinema. According to the team, the film explores urban realities, youth struggles and socially relevant themes. The lyrical video and making visuals of the song were unveiled at the event, drawing attention for their raw and street-style presentation.
