Dhruva Sarja’s KD: The Devil has opened well at the box office, earning over ₹4.5 crore on its first day, as per trade estimates. Directed by Prem, the film released on April 30 and recorded strong occupancy across theatres, with several shows running houseful.

The film posted an overall occupancy of around 50 per cent on day one. While morning shows began steadily, audience turnout increased through the afternoon and evening, with night shows seeing packed theatres. Trade expects the momentum to continue over the extended weekend, with collections likely to see a further jump and possibly reach ₹20 crore in the first few days.

The film is working with fans, driven by Dhruva Sarja’s screen presence and intense action sequences. Set in the Bengaluru underworld of the 1970s and 80s, KD: The Devil combines stylised action, grand sets and drama, making it a mass entertainer.

The film also features Ravichandran, Ramesh Aravind, Sanjay Dutt and Shilpa Shetty in key roles, with Reeshma Nanaiah as the female lead. A special appearance by Sudeep towards the end is drawing whistles and applause in theatres.
