Enter Telugu actor, and Victory star, Venkatesh Daggupati, who recently flew into the city not for a shoot or an event, but purely for dosa. Bengaluru’s iconic, crispy, buttery dosa.
His stop was the cult favourite Vidyarthi Bhavan in Gandhi Bazaar, where time stands still and dosas keep sizzling like they did a century ago.
Venkatesh took his time with the experience. He began with soft idlis and crispy vadas, moved on to a comforting plate of chow chow bath, and then came the highlight. The legendary masala dosa. Crisp on the outside, rich inside, and clearly worth travelling for.
He wrapped it up with a strong filter coffee, because in Bengaluru, that is part of the ritual.
The visit quickly turned into a moment. The actor interacted with the staff, soaked in the old world charm, and posed for pictures like a true food lover ticking off a bucket list.
What makes it even better is that this connection is not new. Actor Venkatesh has often played Kannada speaking characters, building a quiet bond with the audience here.
The foodie streak clearly runs in the family. His daughter Ashritha is a baker and food vlogger, and as Rana Daggubati has said before, the Daggubati family shares a deep love for food.
This time, it was not cinema but dosa that brought Venkatesh to Bengaluru.
