After keeping a low profile since her last release, Bhairadevi (2024), Radhika Kumaraswamy is now preparing for a return to the big screen, focusing on choosing projects that offer strong roles and engaging narratives. While there has been a steady curiosity around her upcoming film, Ajagrata, the actor is taking her time before confirming her next move.
Radhika has previously worked across South Indian industries, including Tamil and Telugu cinema. Popularly known as Kutty Radhika, she has built a filmography that spans languages and genres, balancing commercial and character-driven roles over the years. The latest development is that the actor is also exploring opportunities beyond Kannada cinema, with a Malayalam debut likely on the cards. Radhika confirms that a prominent production house has approached her for a film. “I have been offered a Malayalam project, and I loved the story. We are currently working on the dates, and if everything works out, I will confirm the project,” she says.
Ajagrata, directed by M Shashidhar, features an ensemble cast including Shreyas Talpade, Samuthirakani, and Sunil, and is currently awaiting a theatrical release in multiple languages. Radhika is also in discussions for a few Kannada films and is expected to finalise at least a couple of them soon. “I’m glad to be hearing interesting scripts. Family commitments kept me busy for a while, but I’m planning to take up at least two projects this year,” she adds.
