Kichcha Sudeep has become the latest film personality, for whom certain sections of ardent fans have built a temple. The temple has been erected in Doddagajanur, a village located along the Karnataka–Tamil Nadu border.
The shrine has been constructed by Siddaraju, a daily wage earner who sells ice candies for a living, underscoring the personal nature of this act of devotion.
The temple houses an idol of Sudeep and functions as an active space of worship. Siddaraju performs daily pooja, treating the actor with the same reverence typically reserved for deities. Regular rituals are observed, with special prayers conducted on specific days of the week. The shrine also includes idols of cultural and historical figures such as Maharshi Valmiki and Madakari Nayaka.
Siddaraju’s admiration for Sudeep extends beyond this gesture. He is known to watch every release of the actor on the first day, a practice he has followed consistently over the years. His family, according to reports, has supported his decision to build and maintain the temple.
While such expressions of fandom remain exceptional, they continue to highlight the unique space cinema occupies in the cultural and emotional lives of audiences.
