The shooting of Jodettu, starring Chikkanna and Telugu actor Sunil in key roles, is progressing at a brisk pace. Cinematographer Sudhakar S Raj, who is directing the film, has already completed nearly 80 per cent of the shoot across 68 days.
The team recently wrapped up the second schedule in Karekatte village of Nagamangala taluk in Mandya district. A specially erected 1990s village set served as the backdrop for several important scenes filmed during this phase.
The first schedule of the film was completed earlier in Chikkamagaluru, after which a fight sequence was shot in Kanakapura. Following that, almost the entire cast took part in the 25-day second schedule, making it a significant stretch of the production. The team is now planning a grand climax and is putting up a massive set for the sequence. The final face-off of the ‘Jodettus’ will be choreographed by stunt director Arjun.
Based on a story by Mahesh Dev DN Pura, the screenplay has been written by Sudhakar S Raj and his team. The film is being produced by K Somashekhar (Kattigenahalli) under the Akash Entertainment banner.
The film features five songs, with music composed by V Harikrishna. Mohan B Kere is the art director, K M Prakash handles editing, while K L Rajashekhar and Raghu Niduvalli have written the dialogues. Jodettu is planned for release not only in Kannada but also in Telugu and Tamil.
Known for his work as a cinematographer in films such as Adhyaksha, Robert and Kaatera, Sudhakar S Raj now steps into the director’s role with Jodettu. The film blends sentiment, action and comedy, and the makers say the story will eventually reveal who the real ‘Jodettu’ is. The producers are planning to release the film later this year.
The film also features Ramesh Bhat, Rangayana Raghu, Kalyani, Shivaraj KR Pete, Kuri Prathap and Dharmanna Kadur in supporting roles.
