With Yash’s Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups moving to June 4, the popular March 19 festive window has quickly found a new occupant. Darling Krishna is ready to seize this opportunity with Love Mocktail 3. The third installment, which Krishna directs, produces, and stars in, was initially set for an April 10 release. Due to the sudden change, the team has decided to move it up to March 19. Krishna confirms the new release date, saying, “March 19 is too good a date to let go. It’s festive and coincides with a long holiday weekend. Ugadi falls on that day, followed by Ramzan on March 21. It creates a long weekend. For any film, it’s a lucky time.”
He adds, “In fact, we were ready with the film long ago. We planned a February 23 release, but another Kannada film took that date. Since Toxic had chosen March 19, we decided to go for April 10. Now that Toxic has moved to June 4, we’ll take that date."
Love Mocktail 3 is distributed by KVN Productions, the same company supporting Toxic.
“Why waste a festive slot when there’s a finished film with strong recall? Love Mocktail already has an emotional connection with the audience, and Part 3 can benefit from the holiday mood,” says Krishna.
Despite talk about Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge releasing in the same window, the team is not concerned. “That’s a different market. Love Mocktail 3 is made for Kannada audiences. Its spot is secure,” Krishna asserts.
Krishna, who found success with Love Mocktail in 2020 and then with a sequel, returns with Part 3 confidently. He has written the story with Milana Nagaraj and also worked on the screenplay and dialogues. Music is by Nakul Abhyankar, and the couple of songs released have connected with listeners. The director mentions that the third film explores the father-daughter relationship.
The cast features Darling Krishna, Samvrutha, Abhilash, Dileep Raj, Shwetha Prasad, Jagadish, Giri Raj, Rajani, Neyaara, among others.
