With tensions escalating in the Middle East between Iran, Israel, and the United States, flight operations across Gulf nations have been severely disrupted. Former Bigg Boss contestant Drone Prathap is currently stranded at Abu Dhabi International Airport and shared updates through a video.
In response to US attacks, Iran has reportedly launched counter-strikes, impacting operations around Dubai International Airport. Reports suggest more than 150 Kannadigas, including Drone Prathap, are stranded in Dubai.
Prathap had recently travelled to Dubai for events and was scheduled to return to Bengaluru on February 28. However, as the conflict intensified, airports across the Gulf slowed or halted operations.
“I am currently at Abu Dhabi airport. We are stuck here amid the Iran–US conflict. We were supposed to leave for Bengaluru tonight, but all flights are cancelled. We don’t know what to do. The airspace has been completely closed. We have no option but to wait at the airport. Please wait for further updates; announcements are being made here,” Prathap said.
Apart from him, Karnataka MLC Bojegowda is also reportedly stranded in Dubai. Indian badminton star PV Sindhu is at the airport as well. She was travelling to Birmingham for the All England Open scheduled to begin Tuesday on March 3, but operations at Dubai airport were halted following the attacks, leaving her stranded.
