

Bengaluru is set to see a new independent voice in digital storytelling with Bengalurina Aa Ondu Ghatane (That One Incident of Bengaluru), a four-episode Kannada crime thriller releasing on YouTube under Namma Kudlada Productions.
The series explores a sensitive rape case investigation, told through a non-linear narrative that slowly reveals key details and unexpected turns. Built as a suspense-driven story, it also aims to open up conversations around serious social issues.
Filmmaker and actor Gurudutt, who has taken on an unusually wide creative role—handling the story, screenplay, dialogues, editing, costume design, artwork, subtitles, and also playing the lead character bringing his his all-round involvement to the project.
The visual tone of the series is taken care by cinematographer DC Amith Kumar, while Sathya Radhakrishna provides the background score and music. Editing has been jointly handled by Gurudutt and Deepak Hegde, with makeup by Purushottam and DI work by Kamal Goel.
The cast features Meghanakanchan in the female lead, supported by Deepak Hegde, Rohith R Nayak, Manohar N, Manjunath Srinivas Shivakumar, Swapna Sri Prasad, Satish Badiger, and others. Many of the performers come from theatre and short film backgrounds.
Shot across Bengaluru, the series also uses a specially created police station set at Puttanna Kanagal Studio for key sequences, adding realism to its narrative setting.
The release will follow a two-part rollout. The first two episodes will be out on June 26, followed by the final two on July 3.
