Kannada actor Triveni Rao, best known for her role as Constable Saroja in the film Tagaru, is now making headlines for her personal life. The actor has reportedly married former Tripura Chief Minister and current BJP MP Biplab Kumar Deb on June 19.
For 54-year-old Biplab Kumar Deb, this marks his second marriage. The details about where the wedding took place and how the couple met have remained private. A wedding reception was reportedly held at a five-star hotel in Agartala on Wednesday.
Biplab Deb was earlier married to Niti Deb. The couple, who tied the knot in 2001, ended their marriage in 2025 after nearly 25 years together. Reports suggest that after the divorce, Biplab focused on his political career, while his family, especially his mother, encouraged him to consider marriage again.
From gym trainer to Chief Minister, Biplab Kumar Deb’s journey has been one of the most talked-about political transformations in Tripura. Before entering politics, he worked as a gym trainer in Delhi, where he met Niti Deb. Their relationship eventually led to marriage.
Later, Biplab became an important figure in the BJP organisation. In 2016, he was appointed as the Tripura BJP president, and under his leadership, the party formed its first government in the state in 2018. He became Tripura’s Chief Minister but stepped down from the post in 2022 before completing his full term.
He later entered the Rajya Sabha and went on to win the 2024 Lok Sabha elections as a BJP candidate, becoming a Member of Parliament.
Triveni Rao, meanwhile, gained recognition with Darshan-starrer Tagaru (2018), where her performance as Constable Saroja received attention. She later appeared in films including Yuvarathnaa, Babu Marley and Raja Marthanda, among others, and has also explored opportunities beyond Kannada cinema.
The actor is now in the spotlight after her reported marriage to one of Tripura’s most prominent political figures.
