The makers of Lakshmiputra have released the film's first song, 'Inmele', a melodious track featuring Chikkanna and debutante Vanditha. The film marks Chikkanna's second outing as a lead actor and has been written by filmmaker AP Arjun, who has also penned the lyrics for the song.
Interestingly, the track was launched at by eight actors from the Kannada film industry. Senior actor Tara, who plays a prominent role in the film, and producer Shylaja Nag, who has acquired the film's audio rights under the Dbeats banner, were also present at the event
Speaking about the song, A P Arjun said, "I always wanted a song to begin with a word people use in everyday conversations. Lovers often say 'inmele' and 'aamele' while talking, and that inspired this track. We dedicate this pure Kannada song, with the flavour of Mandya, to the people of Karnataka."
Music director Arjun Janya also introduced singer Darshan Melavanki, the runner-up of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, who makes his film-song debut with Inmele, alongside vocalist Prithvi Bhat.
Chikkanna admitted he was initially nervous about the expectations surrounding the song. "When I heard that A.P. Arjun was writing the lyrics and Arjun Janya was composing the music, I was worried. They had given me the hit song 'Nanage Neenu' in my first film. I wondered whether we could live up to those expectations again. Thankfully, we have. A song is the first invitation to a film, and I hope audiences make this one an even bigger success," he said.
Sharing her thoughts at the launch, Shylaja Nag called for greater positivity around Kannada cinema. "Let us spread positivity about the Kannada film industry, and the rest will fall into place," she said, while expressing confidence in the film and its music.
Released on the DBeats YouTube channel, 'Inmele' features lyrics by AP Arjun, music by Arjun Janya, and vocals by Darshan Melavanki and Prithvi Bhat. The song showcases the on-screen chemistry between Chikkanna and Vanditha, offering audiences a glimpse into the film's romantic world.
Produced by Annapurna Arjun under the AP Arjun Films banner, Lakshmiputra has Ravikiran Gowda as co-producer and is presented by Santosh Lad. The film marks the directorial debut of Vijay Swamy, a protégé of AP Arjun.
Arjun Janya is joined by action choreographer Mass Madha and cinematographer Girish R Gowda. The cast also includes Tara, Kuri Prathap and Dharmanna in prominent roles.
Having completed production, Lakshmiputra is now gearing up for release, with the makers planning to bring the film to theatres during the Varamahalakshmi festival season.
