Actor-director Chandan Kumar’s Flirt, which marked his directorial debut while also featuring him in the lead role, is all set to return to theatres in a refreshed version. The romantic comedy had received positive reviews from both audiences and critics when it was released a few months ago. However, with several films arriving in theatres around the same time, Flirt had a relatively short theatrical run despite the encouraging response.

Determined to ensure the film reaches a wider audience, the makers have reportedly trimmed a few scenes and re-edited the film to make it more engaging and fast-paced. Chandan Kumar is now planning a statewide re-release, hoping the revamped version will appeal to viewers across different age groups and demographics.

Carrying the tagline “A Pure Dove Story,” the film has been produced by Chandan Kumar under the Everest Pictures banner. One of the major highlights of the project has been the support extended by Kannada star Kichcha Sudeep, who not only launched the film’s trailer but also lent his voice to a special friendship song, 'Nee Nanna Jeeva'. The track, which celebrates friendship, went on to trend across social media platforms and generated considerable buzz around the film.

Speaking about the film, Chandan Kumar said Flirt is a complete romantic comedy entertainer that blends friendship, love, humour and emotional moments. He explained that the title is not merely about playful teasing or flirting, but also reflects deeper emotions and genuine affection. According to him, every “dove” has a love story within it. He added that the film is not limited to comedy alone, as it also features a psychologically intriguing character, with every role carrying its own significance within the narrative. Expressing confidence in the film’s content, Chandan said he believes audiences will embrace the movie when it returns to theatres.

The film stars Chandan Kumar alongside Nimika Ratnakar and Akshata Bopanna in the lead roles. Veteran actor Avinash appears as a judge, while Shruthi, Sadhu Kokila, Vinay Gowda and Girish Shivanna play pivotal characters. Musically, the friendship song sung by Kichcha Sudeep has been composed by Nakul Abhyankar, while the remaining songs and background score have been handled by Jassie Gift. Cinematography for the film has been done by H.C. Venu. With a sharper edit and a renewed theatrical strategy, Flirt is now preparing for a second innings on the big screen in the hope of reaching the audience it missed the first time around.
