The announcement of Yash’s Toxic arriving in theatres on August 26 has prompted a reshuffle in the Kannada film release calendar, with several filmmakers revisiting their plans to secure a favourable window at the box office. Among the first films to make a strategic move is Ayogya 2, the much-awaited sequel starring Sathish Ninasam and Rachita Ram.
The film, which was originally scheduled for release on August 14, will now arrive in theatres a week earlier on August 7. The makers officially confirmed the revised date, giving audiences an earlier opportunity to watch the sequel on the big screen.
Directed by S. Mahesh Kumar and produced by M. Munegowda under the SVC Films banner, Ayogya 2 brings back the successful combination that delivered the 2018 hit Ayogya. The cast also includes Ravi Shankar P in a prominent role, while Arjun Janya has composed the music.
The sequel continues the journey of Siddhegowda, one of Sathish Ninasam’s most celebrated characters. This time, the story explores the challenges and responsibilities he faces after stepping into public life as a Gram Panchayat member. Staying true to the spirit of the original, the film is expected to blend action, emotion, romance and humour, while expanding the scale and ambition of the narrative.
The decision to advance the release places Ayogya 2 ahead of the Independence Day rush and allows it to capitalize on a relatively open theatrical window before a packed August schedule. With the original film enjoying a strong fan following, expectations are high for the sequel, which aims to build on the popularity of Siddhegowda’s story while offering audiences a bigger cinematic experience.
As the countdown begins, Ayogya 2 is now gearing up to entertain audiences from August 7, setting the stage for what could be one of the key Kannada releases of the season.
